Swabsticks containing alcohol and chlorhexidine are used for skin disinfection and cleansing, typically containing 70% isopropyl alcohol and 2% chlorhexidine digluconate. They are used for topical cleansing before procedures like injections or surgeries.

Mechanism of Action

Alcohol works by rapidly killing microorganisms on the skin's surface. 
Chlorhexidine has a longer-lasting effect, as it can remain on the skin and continue to kill or inhibit the growth of bacteria.

Active Ingredients

70% Isopropyl Alcohol: Alcohol is a well-known antiseptic that effectively kills bacteria and viruses. 
2% Chlorhexidine Digluconate: Chlorhexidine is a chemical antiseptic that broadens the spectrum of activity against a wider range of organisms, including bacteria and fungi.
